Our team have built and currently support a MEO dual 4.5 metre antenna system that provides 6Gb managed bandwidth, at fibre speed via MEO satellites, for a countrywide Telco allowing them to provide 4G/LTE services.
CASE STUDY
Alun was contracted initially for O3b then SES since September 2015 as the Global Services Trainer. Due to the complexity of the multi-antenna ground satellite terminals; and in order to satisfy End-to-End service provision, there was an immediate necessity to train partner companies and internal employees to be able to carry out installation and maintenance of customer MEO systems worldwide. Due to the rapid expansion of the company and introduction of the latest technology, he has had to learn, design and deliver courses on most of their tier two systems, including:
Alun if not busy in his training role often gets tasked with travelling almost anywhere to produce complex site surveys or troubleshoot customer problems, these may be at fixed ground sites or travelling on the largest cruise liners to repair multi antenna MEO and GEO systems.
Technical assistance is often sought remotely for problems in the field, Alun is called upon to assist or lead efforts to restore services, often from thousands of miles away from his location.
Alun, has also been tasked with technical writing, producing procedures and manuals for field engineers to maintain SES Network systems.
The key qualities required to fulfil this role is the ability to learn, communicate and adapting to a very fast changing environment.
